- Send the coat to a specialist dry cleaner experienced in handling mixed media of alpaca wool and genuine leather

- Wipe the leather pockets occasionally with a dry, soft cloth and avoid applying wool detergents to the leather parts

- Use a wide, padded hanger to maintain the shoulder shape and prevent the weight of the leather pockets from distorting the coat

- Steam the wool sections from a distance to refresh the fibers, but ensure no direct heat or steam touches the leather pockets
